RECONNECT

Understanding and Combating Loneliness in the Elderly

The RECONNECT project aims to reduce loneliness among the elderly by helping professionals update the data, tools, and knowledge needed to re-engage this vulnerable population.

RECONNECT partners will begin this process by conducting a mapping exercise that will provide a detailed understanding of how loneliness affects the elderly.

The subsequent development of a practical manual will provide professionals with a valuable resource, including evidence-based activities designed to promote social connections among the elderly.

Through the piloting of these activities, RECONNECT partners hope to demonstrate the effectiveness of these interventions in real-world settings, gathering testimonials that will refine and improve the final manual.
